Social Media Award

A few years ago I had no idea what a blog was and now 85 posts later I am blogging regularly.  When I started, this was an outlet for creativity amidst a busy work schedule and figuring out parenting an infant.  Why I decided to start a blog at one of the busiest times of my life, I am not sure, but it was one of the best ideas I had.  Blogging has allowed me to get back into writing, which I have always loved, while feeling like I am adding a new and unique voice to the mommy blogger community.  It has helped me reconnect with old friends and meet many new ones.  It changes the way I look at parenting experiences, in particular, making the best of parenting lows in thinking that at least this will make for a good post.  I enjoy exploring a variety of topics for the blog and seeing which posts readers respond to most (most viewed post: A Shot at the Future).  I strive to be honest in my writing,  while maintaining the privacy of my patients and family.  Unlike many other bloggers, this isn’t my job and no one pays me to write.  I do this because I love it.

Promoting my blog led to a new Facebook page, Pinterest boards, and Twitter account.  My increased presence on these social media sites has allowed me to meet many other bloggers and truly feel welcomed into a community of amazing mothers, whether SAHM, WAHM, or moms who work outside the home.  I maintain these sites hoping to connect with more readers and share Mommy Call with moms who can relate to my stories.

Parents Magazine recently announced that they are accepting nominations for the 2014 Social Media Awards for parents making an impact in the social media world.  If Mommy Call has made you smile, laugh, cry, or wonder, please consider nominating it for this award.  Nominations end 12/9 and then voting will occur between 12/30 and 1/13.

Mommy Call truly is my spoonful of sugar in an 80 hour week.  Thank you for your support!
