How did Mommy Call start?  I was struggling with my work-life balance after having my son in 2011 and started writing Mommy Call for myself and my family to understand my perspective as a working mom.  In 2012, I became brave enough to share it with the world.  I think I add a unique perspective to the mommy blogger community as a working physician mom.  Unlike many of the pediatrician bloggers out there, this blog is not professional advice peppered with personal experiences.  This is a raw look at the ups and downs of balancing a busy, growing career with a noisy, growing family and the chaos of that collision.  I am pulling back the curtains, so come take a look.

For more about me, check out my About page here.

What camera do you use?  Since I really am just a regular mom and not a professional blogger, most of my photos come from my iPhone.  When I am feeling ambitious though, I use my Canon Rebel T3, which I love because it can catch my fast-moving kids.

How did you know how to create a blog?  I started with WordPress.com, which is very user-friendly.  Then, I switched over to WordPress.org with the help of WordPress, my friend at Really Risa, and a helpful little book called Blog, Inc.  I am constantly working to improve the appearance of my blog and welcome feedback!

Where’s the dad in Mommy Call?  I am married to my high school sweetheart and he is the best partner and co-parent I could imagine.  For his privacy, I keep his profile on Mommy Call to a minimum, but I did feature him in a Father’s Day post here.

Where are you located?  I was born on the Jersey Shore, lived in Manhattan for five years, and have since settled in Philadelphia.

Do you do sponsored posts or giveaways?  As a physician, I am careful about what I endorse on this blog.  I want to be respectful of my employer and want to remain unbiased and ethical in my medical practice.  When I feel it is appropriate, you may see featured products on the blog, but I am very thoughtful about what those are.  As always, anything I feature is representative of me as a mother and not a physician and you should always talk to your own health care provider for medical advice.
